Lifetime
To describe Gilly Metherell as having spent her entire life with horses would almost be an understatement.
Born and raised in the New Forest, Gilly's mother inspred her with a love and respect for horses whilst instilling the importance of good stockmanship and attention to detail.
At East Hill Farm
In 1985, Gilly moved to East Hill Farm in Wiltshire. She continued her interest in breeding and various forms of competition as well as bring up her two daughters.
As her girls passed through their teens, Gilly decided to set up Cotley Hill Stud in 2004.
The Stud
Putting her lifetime of experience into action, Gilly started to choose her brood mares, adapt farm buildings to stables and foaling boxes and assemble a team of experts professionals for veterinary, backing and training.
